Where should I start?

I remember back in 2020, while browsing through the list of companies preparing for an IPO, my eye was caught by an interesting name: Palantir.

I recognized the name from J.R.R. Tolkien’s fantasy novel The Lord of the Rings. In the novel, the palantíri are magical, all-seeing crystal orbs: the “seeing stones.”

As it turned out, the data analytics company Palantir Technologies chose this name to reflect its ability to make massive, hidden data sets more transparent and to provide “far-seeing” analytical capabilities.

I eagerly looked into the company, and what I learned immediately made it clear to me that Palantir would definitely become part of my portfolio.

At the time of its 2020 public listing, the stock started trading at around $10 per share. Thanks to the initial hype, its price reached $35 by the end of January 2021.

Of course, this was followed by the usual wave of selling from early investors. The share price fell below $20 and later traded sideways in the $6–8 range for a long period in 2022. Looking back, that was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for accumulation.

Since then, there is hardly an investor who has not heard of Palantir. The stock later reached a price of more than $200 and currently stands at $136.

We can safely say that it has already become a very successful investment, even in the relatively short term. In the long run, I do not think a price of $500–600 is unimaginable.

But now, let’s turn to the company that inspired this article.

Could this be another opportunity hiding in plain sight?

Let’s take a closer look.

Introduction

There are IPOs that quietly enter the stock market, receive a polite welcome, and then slowly try to prove themselves.
